We meant to walk today…but it rained and got very cold. Papaya did not mind staying in and cuddling with mama, and I plan to do a bit of weight lifting when Adventure Dad gets home to make up for the lack of cardio today. If it rains again tomorrow, I’m off to the mall to walk with the little old ladies!
To celebrate this rainy day I made corned beef and cabbage for dinner. I cooked the beef all day in my crock pot, and then roasted it with a honey-mustard glaze. I also roasted some new Yukon Gold potatoes - yummy! I was feeling very cooking-oriented so I made a marinade from my favorite cookbook; The Best Recipe. I am marinating two chicken breasts in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, mint and curry - they will be great grilled tomorrow for dinner!
Now I await Adventure Dad’ return from work for dinner. The late spring arrival of the missed winter rains is good for our water table, but I hope it does not slow down my excitement for working out more. I want to be a “hot mama” or “milf” at some point and I don’t think sitting on the couch cuddling a sweet pea does that!

Spring by Papaya Mom on April 7th, 2005
It seems like Spring has sprung here in Poulsb along with LOTS of rain to keep those flowers coming.
Snow by Papaya Mom on February 13th, 2007
The snow is coming! The snow is coming!
In the Metro DC area (Northern Virginia) where I live you would think "Snow" was another name for "a big scary monster!" The schools always go two hours late if there is a hint of ice or snow which with a two year old should not bother me BUT it means they are all in the nice daycare at my gym so Papaya is overrun by 13 year olds.
SPRING? by Papaya Mom on January 7th, 2007
We played at the park today with Papaya for many hours, in t-shirts! Papaya was adorable even when the 10,000 kids pushed her around some.
