Loooooong Weekend!

Friday night was the Submarine Birthday Ball. We took Papaya dressed up as a Submariner in “coveralls” which we decorated with iron-on transfers of her name, boat seal, US Navy and some gold dolphins. She accessorized with a stopwatch, apparently often used by the guys in drills. We dressed up her car seat to look like a submarine and made her our boat’s entrance into the centerpiece competition.

The food was alright, the room was too small and the speaches boring as usual. Luckily we got to see friend and dress up together. The JO table ended up watching Papaya for a bit so Adventure Dad and I got to -gasp- eat our salad course together! By the end of the night the service was slow and we decided to leave before dessert - so Adventure Dad brought the car around while I picked up some Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream in the same building as the Convention Center!

The next morning Adventure Dad woke up early to go to Saturday duty. Papaya and I had a chill day with our only outing to the mall where I got a few items at The Gap for Sunday’s family portrait photo shoot.

Sunday - whew! Adventure Dad got home, showered & changed and then we were off to catch a ferry. We shot pictures for 2 1/2 hours - a bit long for Papaya who missed her nap. I’m really excited to see the contact sheets, it is hard to know if the pictures are good when I was in them rather than taking them.

After the photo shoot we picked up my uncle Rick and were off to the Apple Store in University Village where we bought Adventure Dad the new PowerBookG4 and a Palm Pilot Tungsten T5! I’m setting it all up for him while he is at work today (Monday). We had a nice realxing afternoon after that at Rick & Beth’s where we caught up with them and Dave & Sarah who are giving notice at work today - they are moving to Chicago so Sarah can go to Graduate School! They will move this summer…Wow! I never thought they would leave before us. It looks like Rick & Beth were the first ones here and will be the last to leave…

We crawled into bed late last night and I’m just now starting to feel rested again. Papaya slept in with me and is now taking a small nap. I think she’s happy to have a day at home after the crazy weekend!
