There are no words for how WONDERFUL, BUSY, TIRING, AMAZING, GROWING, SPECIAL, CONFUSING and so much more the last few months have been. I have managed to not post since Papaya’s wonderous birth which makes me feel bad…but now I am back.
Papaya is doing great…starting to push up to stand when we are holding her. Smiling back at us when we talk and smile at her and all the other wonderful things babies do to make you love them. Today is her follow up with Dr. Abdullah, the pediatric gastroenterologist, where she will hopefully be taken off her last medication other than the prilosec (tutti frutti flavored of course).
Adventure Dad is doing great at work, although in refit which could not really be called “fun.” He is working out every morning on our ellptical machine and doing great as a Dad. Papaya loves bathtime, partially because she is a water baby and partially because it is Dad’s time!
I’m working out again which feels GREAT! Papaya and I went with Amy Zinkhon and her daughter Gracie (also in a stroller) for an hour walk today in the light drizzle of a Spring day in Poulsbo. Our goal in about 6 weeks is to walk down the BIG hill to Central Market and across, up Lincoln, and back home. At that point we will be “hot mamas.”

Like Maggie Gyllenhaal who nurses her 8 month old daughter in public and KNOWS it's not a big deal - I mean AAP says a MINIMUM of a year so why is 8 months SO shocking?Like Joley Fisher who had a homebirth and did not hide it like some pariah - her body did what it's meant to do in a place where fewer interventions lowered her risk of complications.
