Off to University Village

So today we woke up early-ish (7:30 a.m.) to meet up with Patty & Ryan Beal to go to University Village in Seattle. We made it on the 9:40 a.m. Ferry and I was able to feed Papaya on the way. She was in a great mood and the day started well.

We exchanged Adventure Dad’ broken Palm Pilot - but the one they gave us was out of the same lot. I’m worried that it too will have the battery problems and Adventure Dad’ patience will run short. If it breaks again I’m going to have to go a bit crazy on the people and get some sort of better deal here. I don’t want to be the one testing out their entire stock of Tungsten T5’s to see which one might work. Lets hope this one does so I don’t have to get cranky.

We walked and shopped - The Land of Nod (Crate & Barrel’s Kid’s Store), Crate & Barrel, Bannana Republic, The Gap, Pottery Barn Kids and a great lunch at Zao Noodle House with dessert at Ben & Jerrys. I got two new tops for me at The Gap, a hat for Papaya there too. At PB Kids I got Papaya a CD of nursery rhymes, a book called “Mommy Loves”, and 4 inch letters in Light Green & Pink that spell her name. Then the big PB Kids purchase - a very expensive but very soft (and loved by her friend Kevin) chambray fitted sheet for her crib. I am hoping that this will make the work to get her to move towards the crib at least for naps a bit better. She took a nap the other day in Kevin’s crib with this sheet and loved it.

On the way home Ryan & Papaya had a crying contest for over an hour. In the end Ryan won with longevity, but Papaya put up quite a fight. Just picture it - two Moms in the front seat waiting to load car onto the ferry with a 18 month old and a 3 month old screaming/crying and pooping (don’t forget the smell). Patty and I just laughed - there was little we could do even when we got on the ferry and played with them. They started right up again for the drive home. I guess we should not wear out our munchkins so well.

Adventure Dad has duty tomorrow so I think Papaya and I will stay home and REST!
