It was the night before Mother’s Day

and all through the house I’m in a bad mood.

Adventure Dad and I argued today over directions, he got us lost, no big shock. But my ‘rents were in the car, so my reactions were deemed awful, which egged us on, which just made everyone uncomfortable. By the time we made it to the Old Dominion Brew Pub, we sat at seperate tables. Adventure Dad, Papaya and I at one and my ‘rents (who are visiting from Hawaii) at another.

Nice, I’m a great hostess.

Adventure Dad reminded me to take my “whack job” pills tonight, thanks, the Lexapro goes down easier when you call it that.

I hate hittin those rough patches that are so inevitable in relationships :/

I’ve learnt that if friends who are couples argue - ESPECIALLY in a car - I stay quiet. It’s a couple’s/married argument, and they’ll work past it just fine without a third party joining in.

[/experienced a few disagreements between couples where I’m friends with both people]

Guys always know how to gentilly make things better, don’t they? :/

I hope things are going better now with your ‘rents. Are they still in town?

Anyone who refers to an antidepressant as a “whack job” pill has seriously crossed the line between trying to make a joke and being mean-spirited. It feels like trying to destroy a person’s self esteem. This goes beyond hurtful. -PattyR
