My own problem.

I check a few blogs each day, friends of different backgrounds and
lives so I can feel like I’m livin’ all of them. Of course this
means that I’m all cranky when there are no new posts. Well…then I
look at my own blog, well, it is from two weekends ago. I have
excuses, yes, of course I do.

Well, first Papaya was sick. Then she gave it to me. Thanks honey,
thanks a lot. So just now, a week later, I’m starting to come out of
the sinus cold fog. I suck as a sick person; I whine a lot and am a
lazy Mom. I feel like I never truly appreciated how cool it is to be
sick as a single person (meaning no kids) and just lay in bed feeling
sorry for yourself. I did it a lot, but never appreciated how “good”
that would seem in comparison to running after a newly well toddler.
I guess when Papaya is in high school and gone all day I can lay there
sick and “appreciate” it.

In better news, I had a “meetup” this weekend of an online January
2005 Mommy’s group I’m part of. I got together with four other Moms
of January Babies for dinner two nights in a row; the first here and
the second a BBQ at my friend Ruthi’s place. It was fun to catch up
with online friends, and interesting to see that our kids are at the
age where they mostly “parallel play” instead of interact with one
another. They did totally dig getting together in a trampoline and
running around like crazy. Papaya is a daredevil, she just ran towards
the outer net throwing herself at it again and again with such
excitement that she did NOT fall all the way to the ground. Nice,
the next 15 years are going to be a challenge.

So today, life is back on track a bit. I’m starting to feel better
just this afternoon, Papaya took a three hour nap and soon our friends
Julie and Michael will be over here for our weekly Poker Night. Awww
yeeeahhh!

So good to be feeling healthy again. Nothing like being down to make you appreciate the good life! Congrats! You made it, again ;-)

I’ll admit, I’ve been ‘cranky’ seeing that last post up for so long! ha ha But, looks like you had sound reason and I’m glad you’re feeling better!

That’s interesting about the kids ‘parallel playing.’ How old are they? At what age do they start ‘interacting’ more?

Ahh, the good old days when you could just sleep until you felt better…I almost remember what that was like! One day Maya will be making you soup though and then it will all be worth it :) I’m glad that you both are feeling better. Hopefully it last a long time!
