Ruminating

on life.

I’ve had quite a few ups and downs these last few weeks.

My Grandmother (Tutu) died. I loved her and was influenced by her in many ways. I grew up living next door to her and was very close with her through adulthood. I am happy for her that she is in a better place, she met Papaya more than once, and all that good stuff. I’m sad that the people I love and enjoy don’t live forever.

I am the 1 person in 86,000 that contracts Hepatitis B from a blood trasfusion. It happend two weeks after Papaya was born. I am lucky that I never got sick and that my infection is inactive. I have antibodies and that is it. My liver function is normal and should stay that way. In rare cases the disease can reestablish itself and cause my liver to fail or develop cancer. The probability is very low for a healthy non-smoking non-drinking (just cemented that) girl like me, but then again, 1 in 86,000 ‘aint bad odds either. I found out the day my Grandmother died.

My husband is a saint and let me sleep in both days this weekend.

Papaya is beautiful and taller by the moment. She has a Finding Nemo addiction that might put me in the loony bin but family and friends have assured me this is normal.

I’m very sorry about Tutu. It is terrible losing someone, even if they are ready to go.

Please more pictures of beautiful Maya! Will’s sister in Maryland is having a baby this winter so I hope we will be visiting by spring.

    WOW….a visit to Maryland!

I’ll take some pictures of the princess this weekend.

I know this past month has been a tough one. That 1-2 punch you had… awful. I’m sorry for both.

Maya really is getting TALL… just like her supermodel mommy. ;]

I also am so sorry about TuTu. I know her spirit will live on in and Maya. Also terribly sorry to hear about this diagnosis. Your long-term health will be in my prayers.
