OCD Showering

I had what might be the best shower ever today. No, my hot husband did not join me in the steamy glass enclosed room, oh no. It was a little water nymph of love.

On the no TV kick I needed to keep Papaya with me as I got ready for tonight’s party, so we started with a shower. I have an awesome shower with five showerheads that can massage my love handles from all angles without using my hands at all. There is also a large bench in my shower where Papaya likes to sit and have one or two shower heads keep her bottom half wet (heaven forbid water goes into her face, it’s a travesty).

So we showered, we washed, I was done…but in the spirit of play I sat on ths shower floor facing Papaya as she sat atop the bench at my eye level. I fluberted her little soft belly and she giggled with a sound that could convince Osama Bin Laden to give up war, pure joy. Then she took my head in each of her hands and began to lead where I go…I though pulling me in for a kiss. Nope, she put my head under the water like I do to her when we wash her hair on that one awful day of the week. She smiled and said “Mommy Wash” and rubbed her hands in my hair. I giggled and laughed and told her how fun it was. Then my child who does not like to have her face wet stuck her face, on purpose, into the shower water next to mine, looked me in the eye, and smiled with water dripping all over her.

No TV days, where I get to slow down and enjoy that she is a child, are the best thing ever.

I think I need to accept that I'm moody, crazy, loving, wild, insane, nurturing and all that.

Bath time with Xan is just about my favortie thing in the world… mainly because HE loves it so much!

I can’t wait ’til next year when he’s big enough to stand in my parents behemoth shower room at the lake house.

Sigh. That is so sweet Papaya Mom. It took Chloe a LONG time to get used to the water on her head. I found what worked for her, was giving her a cup of water to dump on her head. That way she doesn’t get mad at Mommy for getting water in her eyes.

    Your shower sounds heavenly!
