Adventure Dad, my beloved and most perfect husband, let me stay up late last night alone and sleep in this morning. Really, what more could one want in a husband?
So, I played on the computer planning out Thanksgiving, Christmas, the next Millenium, you know - stuffs. Then, I went to bed. But at eleven p.m. I was not tired yet….what to do?
Read a book! I read a Nevada Barr mystery my parents gave me a while back, finished half of it in two hours. Then, sleep. In the morning I could hear Adventure Dad and Papaya happily chirping along. What did I do? I finished my book in an hour then came out full of happiness to spend the day with my loves.
It reminded me what it felt like to be single, almost a teen. Sleep, whenever you want. Wakeup, and do whatever you want. Brush your teeth, show up downstairs, and people are nice to you. Of course I don’t remember the lonley days as easily, I really did spend most of that “free” time looking for a boyfriend/mate/husband type. But oh, to be responsible only to myself for a few sweet hours - how fun!
