So is the life of my sweet baby.
It was a tough day, mostly based on the fact that we had to board a plane. We flew, with only a 20 minute nap under our belt, from Oahu to the Big Island (Kona side). Right before the flight we got coffee at Starbucks, big mistake. While attempting to wrangle Papaya her Tutu spilled coffee in her hair, and then we had the nerve not to let her kick the seat in front of her much. At the car rental place she fell and hit her tooth and then, our first sign that the trip might be salvageable, a minivan…no cost to upgrade!
Another 20 minute nap before we got to Puako where we met up with Uncle Pono, Auntie Aute and the gang and saw the ocean up close. We walked out onto the lava reef and sat 3 feet away from a Honu (turtle) eating some seaweed and watched a Moray Eel hunt and come up onto our rock (not too close). We even saw a few petroglyphs in the stones!
Tomorrow is the wedding and Papaya and I are looking foreward to a better rested day where she can be her full happy self rather than a tired short tempered toddler with an exhausted Tutu and Mommy following her around.

Flying overnight might be the best idea I have ever had, or the airlines had, whatever.
