It was a long tiring day, and although she had a nap Papaya was difficulot at times. But you know what? There were also times where she warmed my heart right to the core. We spent the wedding ceremony playing in the yard in the front of the house where she filled a diaper and was a much nicer girl once that was over.
I got to see the bride walk down the isle crying with joy, of course my Mother and I cried too. Willie and Patea are an awesome couple; so in sync and full of love for each other and their families. She chose a dress that few could pull off and looked as if it were made just for her, he was glowing with joy and even made a wonderful speech thanking the Lord and his family for being there (she followed with a speech in Tahitian). Patea danced both Hawaiian and Tahitian Hulas for her new husband, her Mother and Aunties danced for her and on and on all night. The music was great, the company energetic and joyful.
Papaya was obsessed with hanging with Uncle Pono and her new friend Becca as well as Auntie Aute (pictured above) who gave her lots of love. Papaya danced when no one else did, quite a scene stealer! The night went long as we awaited Aute’s dance, but Papaya made it to 9 p.m. before we drove up to Waimea to go home for the night (a miracle).
Today - Hawaiian time with Auntie Jessica. We ate breakfast at the local coffee shop (avoided Starbucks) and spent the day driving around Waimea dreaming of what house we’d buy if we won the lottery. We took a nap, helped Auntie in her organic garden and are looking foreward to going to a small gathering of friends to sing, then on to Cafe Pesto for some dinner.

It gets "better" each time these military moves happen to us, but it is never easy to pack up your life and start over.
