I am dying for a bike when I make the move to Hawaii this fall. Did I mention that? We found out Adventure Dad will be too busy in the UK for us to go - so Papaya and I will live in Hawaii for a year with Adventure Dad visiting for Pono’s wedding and me visiting him in the UK. Back to the bike.
Electra Cruiser Bikes are the BOMB and I want one with a basket on the front, leather flower embossed seat and a bike seat for Papaya on the back. I want to take her to her preschool and rock around Kailua town on my bike - for the health of it, and the minimizing of my own carbon outputs. Yes, while Adventure Dad drives around practicing war on a nuclear machine I’m going to become more of a hippie as if that were possible.
Crunchy crunchy crunchy.

As part of moving comes buying and purging - getting rid of things via Craigslist and the like, and also buying things for the next house.

Go with the Coaster 1. It has fenders (keeps the water and dirt off of you) and is a single speed. Someone once told me that a single speed is better than a three speed - not sure why. But I’m not sure there’s enough difference between the speeds to pay the extra bucks. If you’re talking about riding around home, it’s mostly flat. On my bike there are only two speeds I use — riding with the wind or against the wind. The kid seat comes with its own attachment to the bike and hopefully won’t get in the way of the back fender. I like the women’s bike without a bar from from frame to seat. You would probably fit on Bruce’s bike since you and he are of similar heights. But his bike has the bar. What kind of bike do you have for riding around Burke Park? Can’t that one come with you? -Tutu
I think I posted this on my blog a few weeks ago. I WANT THAT BIKE!!!!!!
I am sure we can’t afford it right now, but damn I want it!
I haven’t kept up with your blog recently, but there is one thing I’d like to add. While in operation, nuclear submarines produce zero CO2 emissions.
