Impeach Cheney has been around for a while - as have calls to impeach Reagan, Bush (in 2005), and even soon to be ex-Attorney General Gonzales. It’s not as uncommon as many of us were made to believe when Clinton was acquitted in 1998 along partisan lines. And I totally agree with the excitement of American Mum when she talks of the start of the process regarding Cheney.
Heck - I totally agree that this guy is one of the people entrusted to power in our government who has served not the American people as a whole but rather his own partisan, financially motivated, underhanded agenda and lined his pockets in the meantime. But then it gets so sad for me - because I’ve lost a lot of faith in our government and the idea that the congress (even the new Democratically controlled one) is going to save the American public from the old boy network.
A military wife on my favorite parenting site talked about the way people approach her when her husband is deployed and she’s home with four children. Often, as I can attest to as well, people ask her “what can I do?” Her simple answer often shocks but it rings so very true - “Well for the love of God please don’t vote Republican.”
When it comes to our current Vice President - I just don’t know if the bill introduced into a subcommittee of the Judiciary committee will ever see the light of day. I think the odds of it being scheduled by either committee chair are slim to none, and the Speaker (no matter her good intentions to lead us out of the dark hole this administration has created) would be crazy to stake her career on bringing this bill to the floor that even the committee chairs are afraid to touch as the secretaries file it so very far away.
I think, sadly, that Mr. Cheney will retire into the money he’s aquired through underhanded dealings and contracts and die of old age. It’s not that I want Mr. Cheney, or anyone else for that matter to die for crimes, but I want our country to stand up to leaders who say they represent us when really representing a small rich portion of our country to be brought before the world and kicked out of power. I don’t need, or want for that matter, a bloody coup - but rather for our representatives to stand up for what is right and wrong, not right and left, and impeach for fabricating lies that lead our country to war when the same congressional body (made of different members at the time) impeached a President over perjury and obstruction of justice relating to interpersonal crimes that although serious to those involved did not sentence hundreds of American soldiers to death and tens of thousands to injury.
This is not what our military is for and these men, Bush and Cheney, abused that. I just wish I could trust in the process and those acting out that process to do what I think is right and impeach both of them and have them removed from office.

Not enough produce? by Papaya Mom on January 25th, 2007
The Well Fed Network recently had an article on advances in Nutrition and part of it popped out at me:"If Americans doubled their consumption of produce (which we would have to do in order to eat as much as we should be eating), there would not be enough vegetables to go around.
