Maybe suggest she go to sensitivity training. Or you could just get a bunch of parents together who have a deployed loved one all get in line when she's in and everyone ask for a children's book on deployment. All day. For a few days even. Maybe she'll get the point that there are a whole lot of people sending their loved ones overseas for long periods of time and need to help their children cope.
