Sleep is hard to come by, at night for me. Natural inability to sleep before midnight - at least it gives me some time online. I get to catch up on blog reading only I’ve been negligent in my writing of late.
What is new?
Papaya - she’s both wonderful and difficult as I assume all toddlers are. I try to be a fresh new Mommy each day - some days I’m not at my best but most days I feel like I’m doing a good job with her. She’s funny and defiant, sweet and stubborn, tiny yet strong - all things that I’m sure my Mother saw coming.
My brother is getting married in a few weeks - we’ve “showered” the bride at a luncheon and all that is left is the Rehearsal Dinner (at my place hosted by my Mom and I) and the Wedding Day. I’m reminded that big weddings are work - there is a good reason most of us do this only once in life, it’s not worth the stress of planning and executing a wedding! I am looking forward to the cake though - it’s from a local place called Cake Lava and it is going to be sooooo good. I love guava cake and that is one of the flavors they chose.
Adventure Dad comes home in a few weeks and I’m so excited to see him with the Papaya again - they miss each other like crazy.
My plan? To get onto regular blogging in the New Year, learn to sew (I guess I’ll have to borrow a machine or get one from Adventure Dad for Christmas), work on PHSOWC’s Annual Charity Auction in March and then, uh, play life as it comes at me!

Like Maggie Gyllenhaal who nurses her 8 month old daughter in public and KNOWS it's not a big deal - I mean AAP says a MINIMUM of a year so why is 8 months SO shocking?Like Joley Fisher who had a homebirth and did not hide it like some pariah - her body did what it's meant to do in a place where fewer interventions lowered her risk of complications.

I am bombastic in my blogging - I often write as if I were shooting from the hip without thought for possible hurt feelings.

Around Chez Papaya things are a moving! In less than two weeks the Papaya and I are moving in one direction, Adventure Dad will be supervising the pack out after we leave and selling on car, then he has to turn over his job to a new guy and travel up North for a few weeks.
