Papaya was sick and had a fever - she needed to sit in a bath to get it down but the tantrum she was throwing to avoid it was getting her hot and bothered which was against the point! We dumped out one of her plastic toy chests (in a corner), rinsed it out and added about 2 inches cold tap water and gave her cups/ice cubes/straws to play with. We sat right there and watched her - just as if she were in a bathtub - but the girl just happily splashed around (we covered the immediate area in towels) while watching TV (Wow Wow Wubsy on PBS Sprout). She was convinced she’d got to break a few rules - having a bath in the living room - and we got the feeling of doing something for that fever while we waited for the Tylenol to kick in.
